LTL (Less Than Truckload) Shipments

Configure your account to use Shipium's LTL APIs.

About less than truckload shipments

Less than truckload shipping refers to shipments that do not fill an entire truckload, also known as less than load (LTL). This type of freight is generally too large to transport as a single shipment via small package shipping but is not large enough to constitute a full truckload.

The LTL (Less Than Truckload) APIs allow you to plan for the transport of LTL shipments. These APIs help your organization determine whether to ship via small package or LTL, while also providing the cost of the LTL shipment.

Set up LTL shipping for your organization

To start using the LTL APIs, you’ll need to complete the following steps. Your dedicated Shipium Implementation team member will assist you with each one.

  1. Set up your Shipium account.
You’ll set up your organization’s account within the Shipium platform.
  2. Configure your fulfillment network.
All warehouse or store origins and origin schedules are set up on the Shipium platform and configured to your organization's exact network properties. You'll also set up third party billing. When configuring carrier rates, the type of rating selected should be Carrier Rating.
